 Vaska is a Berkeley-based company that develops advanced botanical solutions for household, institutional, and industrial cleaning. Our revolutionary products use real herbs to clean effectively – without harming people or the planet. Founded in 1999 by fashion designer Julia Fry, Vaska offers laundry products for home and commercial use. The top hotels in San Francisco, including the Ritz-Carlton and Joie de Vivre hotels, are among our commercial customers. Vaska is among a select number of companies that have earned recognition by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Design for the Environment Program (DfE). As a DfE partner, we have voluntarily committed to developing products that break down quickly to non-polluting compounds and help protect aquatic life in both fresh and salt water. In 2008, Vaska was awarded “champion” status – the highest level of recognition under the EPA’s Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative.
