We recently had a customer send us an email about a laundry dilemma. We thought she may not be the only person with this issue, so we wanted to share her laundry problem.
“I’m so hopeful that you can help me solve my laundry problem. All my cottons start to accordion on the edges when I wash them, even after just 1 wash, as I found out today with a new set of sheets. Even ironing won’t get rid of the folds. It’s driving us batty. Can you help us figure out how to prevent this?”
Our response: There are a few things that may be causing this issue. The wash temperature is too hot or the drying temperature is too hot. Another reason for the accordian folding could be over drying. In general to prevent shrinking and wrinkling you should remove your laundry out of the dryer at about 98% dry. Over drying also causes additional wear and tear on your clothing.
